PSI Exam Virginia

The Virginia real estate license exam is run by PSI.  
You must first pass an approved pre-license course.  See VaRealtySchool.com.
How to apply for the PSI exam:  After passing the course, PSI emails you an approval and link to schedule your exam. You may sign up for date and location AFTER your receive the email from PSI.

You cannot sign up for an exam until PSI receives your school approval and sends you the approval email.

You may create an account before or after you select a date and location.  You can create your account before PSI sends you the approval email to take the exam.

Optional online proctored PSI Exam.  (New October 2024)
You can also take the PSI exam using a webcam from a computer.
But understand the extra Rules of Online Proctored Exams.
*No bathroom breaks or breaks of any kind (exam time is 2 1//2 hours total), hands on desktop, eyes focused on computer screen, always in clear view of proctor.
*No hands on face, no talking/whispering/mouthing, no fidgeting.  No scratch paper.  Quiet room and no unauthorized persons or activity on video or audio.
*Note: Bathroom breaks are allowed at the in-person testing center.

Virginia PSI Exam
Passing scores and times: 
National portion: 70% (56 out of 80) 1 hour 45 minutes  
State portion:  75% (30 out of 40) 45 minutes
Exam Time:  National-  Virginia- 45 minutes
There are 5-10 additional questions that don’t count toward your time or score.
If you don’t pass National or State, you only need to retake the one you failed.  But you need to reschedule. There is is no limit on retakes.

Virginia allows salespersons from out of state if they got their license in another state that included at least 60 hours of pre-license.

After passing the PSI Exam:
You may sign up with a broker or brokerage company. The broker or company normally supplies your application. If signing up as inactive on your own, you will need to pay another $60 to activate with a brokerage at a later date.

Fingerprinting: 1 fingerprint is required to take the PSI exam.
The full 10 fingerprints are required to apply for your license.
Some PSI exam centers may offer this for $52.  Due to PSI delays in processing, our instructor recommends fingerprints by
fieldprintvirginia.com. When asked for the address and name of the employer or processing agency that sent you — write in DPOR, Richmond, VA. Enter this Fieldprint Code: FPDPORRES — the Virginia real estate code.
