Who we are

Our company name is Act Web Real Estate School Inc. doing business as  We are a proprietary real estate school licensed by the state of Virginia under the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations (DPOR) and the Virginia Real Estate Board.  Our headquarters is in Reston, Virginia.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it


If visitors leave comments on the site, we may collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

We do not normally check on this information if it is available.  We only normally monitor questions and those signing up for our courses.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms


Your computer or browser may save information when you visit our page, log in or leave comments or questions.  We do not use that information.  You should be aware of it, but almost all websites are similar in leaving cookies that show you have previously visited the site. 

Our online courses use software by third party providers.  So if you are taking those courses, we are not in control of the privacy policies of the providers.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may, but rarely, include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.


Who we share your data with

We do not share our data with anyone else.  Our company owners have access to the information only.  If you do leave a comment or a review on our site, we may share that data by posting it on our site.  We do allow you options to not include your name, whether first and or last name, and the option not to allow to place your contact information on our site.  Note that we normally only request your first name, last name if desired and city, state, but all of that is optional.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

The owner of the our school, Act Web Real Estate School Inc doing business as is Paul Hartke, who is our instructor and is also the principal broker  and co-owner of National Realty, LLC,  a real estate firm licensed in VA, MD and DC.  Our real estate school is a separate company from the real estate company.  Our real estate school is licensed by the Virginia Real Estate Board.  Our courses are approved by the Virginia Real Estate Board.  The instructor obtained his broker license in 1995.  He was a salesperson prior to that.  The school and the instructor were first licensed in 2003 and have maintained active status since that date.
