Continuing Education (CE) for Virginia Brokers
All licensed Virginia real estate brokers must take 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years. The two year period is at the end of the month every two years from your initial license date. You can find your expiration date on the DPOR website. You need to complete your continuing ed prior to the end of the month of each two year period. The continuing ed deadline is also your license renewal date.
The 24 hour requirement is for brokers only, not salespersons (agents) who have a 16 hour requirement for CE. The Virginia Real Estate Board added Broker Management and Supervision for the extra 8 hours. This course is approved by the Board and includes all mandatory and elective hours required for renewal including the required Ethics course that NAR requires.
